The closing ceremony of the Growth Program of the Orange Fund was held on Wednesday 30 June. As one of the 22 participants, NewBees received personal congratulations from King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. There was also the opportunity to talk to the royal couple and the other participants.

In 2017, NewBees was selected for the exclusive Growth Program of the Oranje Fonds. The program is intended to help the growth of social initiatives with potential and ambition. In addition, the fund provided financial support so that the growth ambition could actually be realised.
Grown from a bunch of people to a professional organisation
In the past 4 years, NewBees has grown from one team in Zaanstad to nine teams in 14 different Dutch municipalities. This growth has a positive impact not only on our participants but also on our own organisation, the employers where the traineeships take place, the municipalities where we work and society in general.
It was nice to talk to Queen Maxima about our goal and our working method. NewBees wants to make the Netherlands more inclusive through the workplace by organising traineeships in as many places in the Netherlands as possible.โ

What we do
NewBees matches newcomers to a traineeship at local organisations. We also share our expertise through workshops. Think of intercultural workshops for newcomers, about CVs, job interviews and the Dutch labor market. Or the Wees Welkom Workshop for companies and organisations, where we provide concrete steps on how to achieve an inclusive workplace. Everything we do at NewBees helps to prepare newcomers for a place in our society. Our approach is a unique combination of personal guidance and practical experience, based on customisation.
Further expansion
The new Civic Integration Act gives NewBees opportunities to collaborate with more municipalities. As a result, we will expand to new cities and regions in the coming years, on the way to a more inclusive society.
