“This is what happens when you help people find work that is close to their passion and talents”

It is so nice when you have matched someone to (volunteering) work, and see that she gets a smile on her face when she gives you a tour of her new work environment. This is what happens when you help people find work that is close to their passion and talents. This is also the case with Sarab, who I visited last week during her volunteer work at the Musiom in Amersfoort. The Musiom is a new contemporary museum on the city ring in Amersfoort, and they were looking for volunteers to receive visitors! She proudly showed me her new workplace. Like this painting: it symbolizes the crossing of newcomers across the Mediterranean, and is part of a larger exhibition on the subject.
Sarab says that the people at Musiom are very nice: “it feels like family”. Sarab also worked with art in Syria; there she restored paintings. Nice that the Musiom is open to also give newcomers a place in Amersfoort. This allows people like Sarab to practice the Dutch language and meet people. Keep up the good work NewBees!
